On Sunday, December 4, the Valencia Trinidad Alfonso 42K Marathon took place, a mega meeting that dominated the city to receive more than 30,000 athletes, with the representation of 124 countries, which only translates into extraordinary success figures for the city, at the organizational level, business and management, managing to position Valencia once again as one of the top cities for sports tourism, an event that achieved 85% hotel occupancy for the weekend.
In this edition it reached the position of the second fastest marathon in the world, surpassing Milan and only behind Berlin thanks to the victory of its champion Kelvin Kitpum, originally from Kenya and achieved the third best time in history, 2:01: 53 (unofficial), making it the third best record after Eliud Kipchoge (2:01:09) and Kenenisa Bekele (2:01:41)
A Sunday that was filled with passion for sport with visitors of all ages and different nationalities.
The event was also a great opportunity to show Valencia to all visitors and leave them wanting to return to explore all the wonders that the city offers through the route at the different kilometer points, and choosing as a point of departure and arrival in the majestic facilities of the City of Arts and Sciences, a city that enchants tourists with its hospitality, with the varied architecture and the perfect climate.

The Valencia Marathon had at least 30,000 registered (19% women and 81% men), of which, for the first time, half (50%) are runners from outside Spain, 26% from the Valencian Community and the 24% from the rest of Spain.
Specifically, 124 countries represented (compared to 108 in 2021) with France as the second most athletes contributed (4,025) after Spain (14,611). In third place, Italy (1817), followed by the United Kingdom (1365) and Belgium (1312).
